
Local Government Works Association of Western Australia Inc (LG Works) is a non-profit association, providing member services, professional and personal development, and an Annual State Conference and Trade Exhibition for Supervisors, Works and Service Officers and Member Councils in Western Australia.
LG Works members are from local authorities within the State and the varied backgrounds of our members ensure a high standard of care for all our Australian major assets, ensuring a healthy future for our transportation and public infrastructure.
Works and Service Officers oversee and are involved with the construction, development and maintenance of roads, drainage, reserves, reticulation, machinery and workshops, water management, waste and recycling.
LG Works aims to provide a central organisation of Works and Service Officers within Local Government to:

The Executive Committee of the LGWA are pleased to announce that we have renewed the Memorandum of Understanding with Local Government Professionals WA.
This partnership arrangement recognises that LGPAWA and LGWA are both reputable peak bodies representing and supporting their respective members working in local governments. Not only do our members obtain a 5% discount to selected LGPAWA’s events and training programs, we also have the opportunity to provide input to any submission of LGPAWA in response to legislation and regulations changes that has an impact on both Associations’ respective members.

Allister graduated from the South West College of TAFE in 2000 with the Diploma of Engineering and Mine Surveying.
Following graduation, Allister has worked in the Local Government industry for 18 years, during this time he has greatly expanded his technical and practical knowledge of asset upgrade and management techniques by undertaking training but also learning from management, staff and contractors with many years of experience. This has provided Allister with a very broad skill set to be able to work with an extensive range of materials, assets and situations across the state of WA to provide high quality projects all the way from inception to delivery.
Throughout his career Allister has provided high quality reports from Council agendas, tender documents, contractual documentation for delivery of goods/services, asset management plans, assessment of subdivisions and developments including providing Deeds of Agreements for road upgrade and/or maintenance contributions at these Shires.
We look forward to working with Rural Infrastructure Services over the next year and into the future.
