Matt Gill

Former General Manager, Beaconsfield Mine

Matt is a mining engineer with over 35 years' experience.

He has a strong technical, operational and executive management background, having worked in roles ranging from an underground miner, supervisor, department head and site operations general manager, through to CEO and managing director, in Australia (Tasmania, WA, Victoria and NSW), Papua New Guinea, India, Ghana and Bolivia.

Matt holds three First Class Metalliferous Mine Manager’s Certificates of Competency and has been instrumental in the successful development of three gold mines (Porgera, Beaconsfield and Ballarat). He is a three-time winner of the Australian Mine Manager of the Year Award and received the AusIMM Leadership Award in 2008.

Matt has previously worked for Singapore-listed LionGold Corp, Renison Goldfields, Placer Pacific, WMC and Rio Tinto, and is currently MD&CEO for ASX-listed White Rock Minerals.


Peter Hall

Project Manager, Wheatbelt Secondary Freight Network

Peter has been building roads and general earthworks for nearly 40 years—operating all earthmoving equipment.

Peter's career has progressed from labourer to Project Manager in that period.
He is self-taught, learning by asking questions of others. He has progressed by keeping an open mind and understanding that even the day one employee, or absolute newby, can teach him something about his job.

Peter has a strong desire to learn something new every day and a love of sharing knowledge.

David Waters

Commercial Director, Brainbox

David is the Commercial Director of Brainbox. He has a number of years’ experience working in recruitment, training and HR with a previous background as a multisite manager in the hospitality industry.

He is driven by helping organisations to better understand the capabilities of the people in their businesses and by assisting them to achieve constant improvement in their teams.

Brainbox have a wealth of experience working with Local Government through both training and the delivery of a variety of HR related projects across a number of tier 1, 2 and 3 councils. David is leading the promotion of the Brainbuilder microcredential eLearning platform in partnership with LGWA and is looking forward to presenting at the conference in August.


Adrian Warner

Road Safety Commissioner, Western Australia

Adrian Warner was appointed as Road Safety Commissioner in Western Australia in April 2020.

He came to the role with over 18 years of executive management experience in the WA public sector including four years as a CEO for Workcover WA, and immediately prior to taking on the Road Safety Commissioner role had held senior executive roles within the Housing Authority and Department of Communities with a focus on inter-governmental relations, remote community housing, social housing policy and housing data and research.

In 2009, following an initial 22 year career within the WA public sector, he relocated to Canberra where he was policy advisor to senior Cabinet Ministers in the Rudd/Gillard governments, before moving to Sydney in 2011 as a consultant for the global pharmaceutical company Novartis.

Outside of work, he has been involved in coaching and administrative roles with a number of community sporting clubs and is currently coaching both local and district representative level teams within the Perth Redbacks basketball association. Adrian also enjoys bike riding in his spare time.


Michael Broadbridge BPE, DipEd

Managing Director, G11 Team

Michael specialises in strategy execution, high performance and leadership coaching and he currently delivers a variety of programs for large-scale Western Australian companies. His experience across both business and sport is vast. He has coached at three AFL clubs during times of significant culture change.

At Collingwood Football Club, Michael was intimately involved in the transition of the team from wooden spoon to two consecutive grand finals within a 5-year period. The driver for this rapid improvement was a significant culture change program. At West Coast Eagles Football Club, Michael was part of a major transformation of club culture underpinned by redefining acceptable player behaviour.

As a head coach, Michael has been awarded Western Australian Football Coach of the Year on two occasions and coached the West Australian state side to the first ever win over Victoria in Victoria.
Michael has also been a consultant with global company DuPont, specialising in leadership, culture and safety where he worked successfully across a variety of industries.

Michael is a qualified educator, having studied at UWA, and is recognised for coaching, mentoring, presenting and facilitating.
